Welcome to HelloPigPen

Hello and welcome to our brand new blog. If you're here, we assume you know a little something about us. Even so, here are the highlights:

PigPen is a 5ish year old pit bull type dog who was surrendered to the NYC ACC in December of 2014. In January 2015 she arrived to our home as a foster and life has never been the same. We adopted her in May 2015, and since then she has played foster sister host to 70+ other dogs. Penny is incredibly smart and sensitive- in fact, I'm pretty sure she's a human child trapped inside a dog's body by a witch's spell. She also suffers from extreme separation anxiety, and can be reactive to new big dogs, so we've learned a lot from each other over the past few years. 

LooseSeal Blueth is Penny's little sister. She was pulled from the NYC ACC by a rescue group and arrived at our home as a foster in August 2017. We adopted her in September 2017, and she and Pig quickly became best of friends. Seal is our resident wild child, she's an absolute kamikaze when she plays, with no regard for personal safety. She is unbelievably weird, loves to dig in the sofa and beds but not in dirt, swims on the couch, and loves to feel the hot air on her face from the radiator but is terrified of actual wind. 

Getrude (also known as Gert, True, or Granny Gator) is Penny's granny sister. She arrived as a foster after being pulled from the NYC ACC by Mr. Bones and Co. in January 2018. She had surgery to be spayed and remove some tumors in late January, and it was found she has follicular lymphoma. When it was found in April 2018 that her lymphoma is progressing faster than expected we hospice-adopted her to stay in the family forever. Gert is by far our easiest dog child. She likes everyone and everything, walks well on the leash, and is generally pretty chill. She does LOVE to play chase and wrestle with her sisters but especially LooseSeal, she gets groomed by Penny Pig on the reg, and she is our #1 fun police/hall monitor.
